+ Larger Font / - Smaller Font Choroidal Nevus 
A Choroidal Nevus is a benign pigmented or nonpigmented lesion (freckle) in the choroid. Like freckles on the skin, the back of the eye can develop freckles as well. These freckles are called choroidal nevi and are on the choroid part of the eye. They tend to be flat and have a grayish-greenish appearance and for the most part are asymptomatic. The nevi usually remain benign; however, if the nevi reach a certain thickness, there is a possibility that it could become a melanoma.It is recommended to have a thorough dilated eye examination at least once a year by an eye care specialist.
